The girls changed their name to the "New Different" as Kolby explains in the video.
Always great to see young people reach out to the world. Verse in the video: "17 Dear brothers and sisters, pattern your lives after mine, and learn from those who follow our example. 18 For I have told you often before, and I say it again with tears in my eyes, that there are many whose conduct shows they are really enemies of the cross of Christ. 19 They are headed for destruction. Their god is their appetite, they brag about shameful things, and they think only about this life here on earth. 20 But we are citizens of heaven, where the Lord Jesus Christ lives. And we are eagerly waiting for him to return as our Savior." -Philippians 3:17-20 Joshua 24:14-15: (14) "Now fear the LORD and serve him with all faithfulness. Throw away the gods your forefathers worshipped beyond the River and in Egypt, and serve the LORD. (15) But if serving the LORD seems undesirable to you, then choose for yourselves this whom you will serve, whether the gods your forefathers served beyond the River, or the gods of the Amorites, in whose land you are living. But as for me and my household, we will serve the LORD." In the scripture, Joshua is giving his last words of wisdom to the Israelites before his death. Joshua stood up for God and asked a pretty basic question to the Israelites in which side will you choose? Will you choose the idols of your forefathers or choose to live your life with Jesus? Joshua was never afraid to display his faith. Regardless of what others thought, Joshua stuck with his commitment to Christ and was an excellent spiritual leader as displayed throughout the whole book of Joshua.
Joshua set a prime example of how to live with Christ and how to extend faith among others. The way we live shows others the strength of our commitment to serving to serving God. It's easy to fade into the distance and be part of your own quiet rebellion but there comes a time in which you have to choose a path for your future. Will it be a path of God by walking with faith and leading by example or will it be a path of sin with an imperfect substitute calling the shots? It's your choice. So choose wisely;) Once you choose the path to walk with God, make yourself aware of your choosing everyday when you wake up. Reaffirm your choice everyday. Prayer: God, thank you for letting us live in a country of freedom. Thank you letting us have the opportunity to serve your great name in this country as opposed to others. Help lead me into the right direction throughout my life and be with me through harsh times and conditions. Help me be a strong example to those who are immature in faith and help me lead them to you. I trust you with all my heart. I praise you because you are faithful and just and provide me with all I need. In Jesus' name, Amen. Songs in the video:
"Slow Fade" by Casting Crowns "Hello, My Name is" by Matthew West Verses Kobly reads: James 1:14--> "Temptation comes from our own desires which entice us and drag us away." 2 Timothy 2:22--> "Run from anything that produces youthful lust instead pursue righteouness, faith, love, and peace along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart." We know and love the show "Duck Dynasty" on A&E but maybe you didn't know how much the Robertson family loves the Lord. Sadie Robertson, Willie's oldest daughter, shares her faith with her friend Kolby Koloff of Lifetime's "Preachers' Daughters." The two enjoy reaching out to the youth of the world and teach them about temptations and faith through the eyes of a teenager. Each Monday the two will have a devotional video to share with us. I will post the video on here every Tuesday to share with you all. Hope you enjoy the video like I did. God bless you all! "The River" is a very inspiring song and is one that is close to my heart as it has a great message. The song is about a sailor who is leading his vessel through a river while facing bumps and bruises throughout his journey but keeps sailing as he knows there is land on the other side . From this, I take that we are the sailors and Satan is the storm with crashing waves trying to knock us off our course. But we must continue to sail through the storms and continue to seek God: "There's bound to be rough waters And I know I'll take some falls But with the good Lord as my captain I can make it through them all..." "Trying to learn from what's behind you And never knowing what's in store Makes each day a constant battle Just to stay between the shores..." It's never easy facing hardships and struggles in our lives. From experience, I know it's a struggle. Sometimes we want to go off course and find another way around it all but at the time we didn't know that the other way consists of a dangerous current and a deserted area. Although there WILL be storms throughout our lives, we must stay on course. We must trust God as our captain as he will lead us to a plentiful shore. "Jesus looked at them and said 'with man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.'" -Matthew 19:26 "Those who know your name will trust in you, for you, Lord, have never forsaken those who seek you." -Psalm 9:10 The River by Garth Brooks (While you're listening see if you can make any more connections! There are many!) |
